We do love when people are open about cosmetic procedures, and Grainne Seoige is one of those being honest about how she has gotten her glow back.

Fresh from hosting the National Menopause Summit in Dublin, Grainne will host her own event on the topic on 4 May 2023 at The Ice Hotel in Ballina.

The topic of menopause is important to Grainne who made a documentary for TG4 late last year, and in it, she explored the various aspects facing women in Ireland and called for a national campaign on the matter.

Back on home turf for the foreseeable, Grainne has been getting her little black book of beauty updated, and her move to Galway has proved fortuitous as she has discovered a skin expert right on her doorstep.

Grainne Seoige's Glow

If Grainne Seoige will be on-screen soon you will notice she has a very enviable glow from her latest skin treatments. She posted on her Instagram feed about the procedures she's been having with Dr Laura Lenihan who has a clinic in Galway.

Grainne explained how the two met saying 'I was trying to find a skin specialist, being gone out of Galway for a few years I’d lost the lie of the land. A friend of mine told me about the @metime_app which is really handy. It puts you in touch with highly-rated professionals near you. I downloaded it and found @drlauragp who is actually only 5 minutes from me and I never knew!!! We chatted and I made an appointment to see her.'

Seeing Dr Lenihan to tackle her skin issues, Grainne had two major concerns. She said 'She is amazing and totally took my concerns on board which are - Hyperpigmentation - I’ve had it for years - Dryness - I have never had greasy skin which meant I was never spotty - yay - but then on the other side my skin felt dull and sometimes flaky.'

Viral Injectable

Grainne Seoige detailed the treatments she had said 'I started working on the hyperpigmentation with some skincare and I had Profhilo to target the dryness from within and started a course of secret RF micro needling. I bought some skincare products to continue treatment at home.'

Profhilo is an injectable that first launched here around 2019, and it is particularly good for facial lines across the cheeks and dryness. Profhilo uses Hyaluronic Acid in an intensely concentrated version, to boost and plump out the skin of the lower face area, from the top of the cheeks around to the lower jaw and chin.

The area of the face treated with Profhilo is the circumference of the cheek, with injections at five specific intervals on both sides of the face (10 injections) that put Hyaluronic Acid right in under the skin where it will spread smoothly over the next few weeks boosting glow and stimulating collagen production.

It went viral when it launched because there was really nothing else like it for treating ageing on the cheeks. The effect this creates is smoother, more plumped skin with a 'lifted' look.

Users report skin looking 'fresher' and more 'dewy', treatment two only improves on these results and the full effect lasts between six to nine months. Grainne Seoige is certainly looking more glowy with her treatment.

Profhilo is available at clinics around the country and prices average at €300, and two sessions are required for the best results.
