When it comes to love these days the TV host is married to businessman Leonard (Leon) Jordaan.

The past few years have been a whirlwind of major life changes from launching a new business to moving halfway around the world.

But when the Galway girl met her husband, she was impressed from the get-go by what he had planned for her on their very first date but she said she had to keep things quiet.

Leon met Gráinne in 2011 while they were both working filming for Reality Bites and speaking with EVOKE she told us about her first date with him.

She said, 'He cooked for me at home because I knew if we were seen out, it would become a big story and we wanted to be sure about how we felt with each other before we made the relationship public.'

Thinking back, she said 'He cooked for me and it really impressed me. Laughing she went on to say, 'The meal was so nice that I didn't cook for him for about six months.'

In 2013 they got engaged, celebrating with a party in Lilly Bordellos with over 100 of their closest friends.

In 2019 they decided to tie the knot with two celebrations, one at the Cliff of Lyons and the other, a smaller ceremony at The G Hotel.

Excited to be back living in Ireland and back on TV she said how 'Coming back to Virgin Media is like coming home' and working on a program, Grá an Trá is very exciting.

Examining how younger generations date these days she said it is very different.

'They approach everything very differently and I think anybody can see that. Millennials/Gen Z approach relationships, dating, and talking to the opposite sex in a very different way to us and it's refreshing to see how they manage it actually because they're quite honest with each other. They are not afraid or shy, ' she revealed.

When asked for advice when it comes to dating these days, she said 'Get out there and put your best foot forward because shyness is not a thing that really exists anymore or any of that sort of residual shame that other generations might have grown up with.

While many of you may think this may be just another dating show with toned abs and bikini-perfect bodies, Grainne reassures us that this is not what the show will be like.

'It's not trying to be like other dating shows...I think it is uniquely Irish in the sense of what they get to do...we did some Irish dancing with them. We had a sports day with them on the beach. They had lots of different activities to do that would be uniquely Irish and would reflect our upbringing here in this country.

However, she does reassure us that there is a 'small hot tub outside,' so we just wonder what shenanigans they will get up to in there.

Grá an Trá will be kicking off on Virgin Media on September 25.
