Blade of the Immortal is a Japanese samurai period drama based on the Tokugawa Shogunate dynasty. Written and illustrated by Hiroaki Samura, it has had many adaptations through tv, film, and even anime.

Is Blade of the Immortal Worth Watching?
This series takes place during the bloody Warring States, or Sengoku period of Japan.
Rin is a young girl who brutally lost her family one night, and decides to enlist the newly-immortal swordsman Manji for help. Together, the two go on a journey that explores the depths of depravity humanity faces during wartime and turmoil – while offering quiet glimpses of hope along the way.
Blade of the Immortal is worth watching because the story reminds us that sometimes it’s not about the destination, but the journey and the people we meet along the way.
