Epic. This place is beyond amazing. The beer was stellar, live music was on point, pizza was one of the best I've ever had, atmosphere is extraordinary, and the plans for future renovations and development are super cool. I'll be back any time I'm around this area. I'm glad I don't live close because if I did I'd never get any work done, I'd just be hanging out here.

I'm not crying, you're crying. On a trip to Lake Charles, we stopped by Crying Eagle Brewing for some brews in the afternoon. And we were lucky to find out that we were there during their happy hour where they have discounts on beers and beertails (beer + cocktail mix). They have a large parking lot so parking won't be an issue. And it's a spacious brewery too with two floors.
After checking out the menu, I started with one of their beertails. It's not often that I have a cocktail that has some beer so couldn't say no to that. It delivered. From there, to get a good variety, I did a flight. Always my go-to at breweries so you can try a good number of their beers. Followed by a full-size beer after that to complete the trifecta.
While they had food, that looked good, we stuck to drinks. Plus, free WiFi. I would return. My only complaint? They charge for samples . . . it's a brewery. Come on!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Landon P.Houston, TX43978Mar 15, 2024
Been to a ton of breweries around the country and this one is the absolute upper tier. Everything about the place was well-designed. Ultra laidback - with a drink station, separate window to order food (no waiters, short wait, easy process), and an outdoor patio. Really impressed with the quality of the food, especially at a moderate price point. The beer itself is outstanding though and would make any beer snob proud. If you're passing through town, take a detour and make this place a destination.

Great place! They have indoor or outdoor seating, large patios & live bands! Very nice selection on craft brew taps, something for everyone, and cocktails as well! Our group ordered a few of their amazing hand crafted pizzas! There is a drink bar and a separate food bar, lots of friendly staff working each section, so very short wait line on a Saturday night. They give you a number for your table and bring the food out to you when it's ready. I wish we lived closer, this place would definitely be our "go-to" hang out!

Ahhh I just love this place. I love the chill but busy environment. I love the service. And I love the food. Especially the pretzel bites and pepp pizza! Everything tastes really fresh and the vibe is welcoming,
Franny is one of the owners and we became fast friends. I bought a cookie, and I saw her working, mixing mozzarella in the back. She stopped and asked if I wanted it to be warmed. She stopped what she was doing to help me. The service is on point! It was very nice to meet you both today. And the Christmas decorations are an added bonus 12/22/2022Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Jan 8, 2022Previous reviewMoving less than a minute way from this place was an excellent decision. Fantastic food, outside eating and entertainment area (dogs allowed on back "patio"), and lots of open space. It's not every day that a brewing company also makes bomb food. These nachos are my fav! boudin balls crispy on outside, soft in the middle. The burger is even great (and fresh!). And for fries not, these fries are not just frozen and thrown in a fryer. They are some of the best fries around town. Let's not forget to mention trivia night and comedy hour. Just a fantastic addition to Lake Charles.

What a fun spot. Great beers. Did a couple flights and got pizza and Brussels sprouts. Had a great time with friends in the loft.

Stopped in our way to Gulfport Mississippi. I remembered that I really like the boudin here. You get a lot for $6, four links, and the taste is excellent. We also check down a couple of beers but had to leave and didn't get to try out the rest of the menu this time.

First the beers... everything we had was delicious and really hit the palette in the best way. I think the "pint" glasses were really 14oz but since the beer was so good, I didn't mind as much (normally I have a fit about that). My favorite was the Louisiana Lager... smooth, not too much alcohol and it sure went down easy enough to have another.
The food. We shared the crying eagle pizza: Bacon, shredded mozzarella, goat cheese, green apple, local honey, & fresh rosemary. It was pretty good but the show stealer for us was the 3$ boudin sausage. Damn. I didn't know I like Boudin sausage. I do!
Next time in town we'll order a couple of the Boudin sausage starters and try another menu item, but the key phrase is "next time" and there will be one! - Paul S.Maricopa, AZ2239158510939Dec 10, 2022

Background - I love beer, so I had to find a brewery while visiting the area.
Atmosphere - A little rustic, cement floors, woods, and metal. The kitchen is to the right when you walk in and the bar is in the back corner.
Food
Drink - I had two different IPA's, Things Unsettled and If Nectaron, I Don't Wanna Be Right. Things Unsettled was my favorite of the two. I am IPA guy and there was a lot of taps going here but I think I had both.
Dinner - I love pizza, they had gas oven that you can see just roaring in the kitchen. They had some interesting speciality pizzas but I went my classic choice of a pepperoni pizza. I had an 8", would have like a 10" but that was not a menu option. The pepperoni was larger than most places. Overall the pizza was a little too sweet for me. I was unable to tell if it was the crust or sauce.
Service - The way the place is laid out I would almost expect a server to take care of you at the table. Instead you need to order food at the kitchen, beer at the bar. The cashier at the kitchen did offered up to start a tab for me at the bar. I love the little chalk board beer labels to tell you what they had. Maybe it is my old age but I found finding the style of beer each one is difficult. I asked the bartender and he recommended the Things Unsettled. After sitting at my table I checked my beer into Untappd, my beer app, and noticed the brewery uses the app Untappd. I found my second beer, or I think I did. The brewery does not keep the menu on the app is updated.
Future - Maybe, it is an easy drive from my hotel.
Milestone - Louisiana is state number 31 with a Yelp review from me.Helpful 142Thanks 0Love this 140Oh no 0 - Matthew G.Vinton, LA01Jan 6, 2024
Beer was great. Shirt looks cool. Food was awful. Got the fried chicken sandwich which was so thinly sliced like deli meat and over cooked. Only tasted the breading and chewed it like you would jerky. The kale slaw tastes like bad sea food.
The fried catfish was okay, but only with the tartar sauce. The shrimp tasted rotten.
Go for the beer and the beautiful set up they have.
The chef needs take off his white chef coat and logistically rethink where he gets his food before he puts it back on. The menu is nothing to be proud ofHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
