Iconic place, good drinks, crazy busy when we were there but overall good fun. The floors are mad sticky and something or someone bit my ankle lol. It was definitely something. Extremely loud here so you have to yell to have a conversation but that was all part of the experience I suppose.

Came here for a story-telling event. Food and drink was not included, so we got there early because to see if we could order some from the pub to have during the show. The employee I spoke to seemed a bit confused by what I meant and we ended up sitting down in the pub and eating beforehand.
The food was pretty good. Very solid. Amazing? Not quite. I added salt to my chowder, and my father said the patty of his burger could've used more salt/seasoning. I know salt level is personal preference though, and as an American maybe I'm used to saltier food.
Still, this was my first time in an Irish pub and it seems like a fun place.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Billy D.York, PA092Apr 1, 2024

Came for lunch on the weekend and it was very very easy to find a seat.
Irish coffee was really bomb.
Great service although I did sit at the counter.
The seafood chowder was okay, I'm glad I tried it but I don't necessarily recommend it. It was good but it wasn't anything special.
I am in love with the beef and guinness stew. So full of flavor and the potatoes were a perfect consistency.
I think the food hours on the website are wrong, I think it's just 12-6pm for food. I tried to come on Friday night at 6:30pm since the website said it was until 7pm and they were no longer serving food and it was a packed house inside on all floors.
I'd come back for the food. It's a very loud pub/ drinking situation at night if that's your vibe.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 39153767Aug 29, 2023
I went here for drinks with a friend and though the vibe was fun and drink's refreshing, our waiter was quite rude which soured the moment. We both got non-sweet ciders and thoroughly enjoyed them. Locals recommend going here for good prices as most bars in the area are overpriced.

Came here for lunch and was impressed. I LOVED the vibe of the place and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I got the fish pie and it was good, I wasnt blown away by it but it was solid. There is lots of seating and multiple different areas you can go to. Would recommend coming here for a meal or a pint

Horrible offensive bartender behavior.
This is what I wrote to the company contact email regarding my service today:
Hello,
Today around 2:00, my mother and I were stopping in for a pint and a photo of the stag on the wall for posterity sake, when an irate pony-tailed bar tender shouted at me saying, "DON'T TAKE MY PICTURE!" It stunned me so much, I thought he was joking, so I laughed but when I saw his red face and his finger pointing at my face, I realized he was very mad!
My 81 yr old mother who was standing next to me said "She's not taking your picture she's taking the picture of the stag!" So this red faced bar tender shouted and continued pointing at my face, yelled "Well take a picture of the stag, not Me!!!!"
Please find attached photo of the stag which you will see an absence of the pony-tailed red faced bar tender and please convey my apology for accidentally flattering this man into thinking I'd ever want a photo of him! If I wanted a picture of a horse's ass I'd have gone to the horse's ass pub!
You might also explain to your employee that we had walked for 2 miles to enjoy your place but after that experience, we left! Dublin has a lot of jewels, unfortunately, I no longer your consider your establishment to be one of them.
Sincerely,
Kim D'AllenHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mary C.Kenner, LA023Mar 20, 2024
This man was the rudest person I have ever met in my life. We came to Stag's Head to meet up with our friends on St. Patrick's Day. As we walked up, he immediately denied us saying that we looked too young without checking our I.D.s even though we offered several times to show him (we were all 20 and 21). We were trying to be nice and ask for a reason why he wouldn't let us in to meet our friends who were inside, but he kept flicking us away saying he wouldn't talk to us. After we moved to the side, several other young women came up to us with the same problem. What I don't understand is that our friends who are younger than us were let in not even an hour before. This behavior is ridiculous, especially for a major holiday in London. This was an ego trip for this man, and it is disgusting that he acted like this on a major holiday in Dublin. I hope he sees this review and realizes that his behavior was abominable.

Good Irish Pub with even better food. Walking in, It's not as big as I expected.. only about 15 barstools with a bar room and some beautiful stained glass & The Stags Head! Obv they pour a great pint of Guinness & some folks next to me said the Irish Coffee was outstanding. The food was really good here.. try the Ham & Cheese Toastie/ Ham hock, Dubliner Irish Cheddar with a homemade bechamel sauce on sourdough!! The Beef & Guinness stew is also outstanding. Good stop for a pint they said.
