SAN ANTONIO - An adorable baby okapi is finally exploring his habitat at the San Antonio Zoom.
Gates, who was named after a generous donor from San Antonio Zoo’s Zoobilation Ball fundraiser, was born on Sept. 2 and already capturing hearts with his high spirit and playful energy.
The baby okapi has been discovering his surroundings at the zoo's Africa Live, which gives the animals a natural and enriching environment to thrive.
Okapi's are on the Red List of Threatened Species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
