While the forecast only called for a few inches of snow in and around New York City, some neighborhoods woke up Saturday morning to a lot more.

Central Park only tallied 2 inches of snow, but over 6 inches piled up just south in Brooklyn and Staten Island. Over 6 inches of snow also fell at John F. Kennedy International Airport and other parts of Queens. The highest accumulation reported Saturday was in Coney Island, where nearly 10 inches of snow was measured.

A disturbance off the coast brought snow to much of the tri-state area Saturday morning. There were higher snowfall totals across parts of New Jersey, where some areas were hit with over 12 inches of snow.
