Actor John Malkovich has let go of his longtime Cambridge, Massachusetts home, according to a report from Realtor.com. The Emmy winner listed the six-bedroom, seven-bathroom New England duplex in May with a $2.9 million asking price. A month later, the pad officially sold for $3.1 million. The Burn After Reading actor spent slightly under $1.6 million on the 4,338-square-foot space way back in 2006, so this sale marks the end of a 17-year tenure for Malkovich and his longtime partner, Nicoletta Peyran.

Built in 1930 on a quiet residential street, the three-story abode is set up for single-family occupancy with access between its two halves, but could fairly easily be converted back into a duplex—especially considering it still has two kitchens.

Dark charcoal gray siding covers the facade, softened by a lush flower bed bordering the front porch steps. A pair of antique-looking wooden doors with oval windows add character and invite would-be duplex tenants into their respective units. Above, another porch runs the length of the second floor, lined with tall windows and accessible from a french door.

Inside, the first floor hosts two bedrooms, three bathrooms, and an open-plan great room with living and dining areas. Honey-hued hardwood floors and casement windows are found throughout the living area, in addition to a jet black brick fireplace. The compact but well-appointed kitchen is nearby, featuring a large window over the sink and off-white shiplap cabinet doors.

In the first floor primary bedroom, a set of french doors lead to a small windowed space that would make a great study. Another set of french doors accesses a private brick-paved patio enclosed by mature trees and shrubs. The second floor offers a similar layout, but with access to the top-floor loft suite, which boasts a private balcony and skylights.
