Straight out of the piney woods and brackish marshlands of Southwest Louisiana comes a craft beer brewed for the people of the state. Crying Eagle Brewing Company in Lake Charles, La. proudly announces its newest beer, Louisiana Lager. The golden, drinkable brew is now available in Louisiana and Southeast Texas markets where Crying Eagle brews are available, including Baton Rouge.

Louisiana Lager is brewed using Louisiana rice from local rice mills, and it represents Crying Eagle’s ambitious growth into new markets and new flavors. The lager is now available in retail stores, bars and restaurants in Baton Rouge where consumers can also find the brewery’s three other popular beers—The Chuck, Ready To Mingle and Calcasieu Common.

“Louisiana Lager is the perfect beer of choice for backyard BBQs, crawfish boils, tailgating, fishing and all things Louisiana. That’s exactly why it could only go by one name: Louisiana Lager,” said Eric Avery, president of Crying Eagle Brewing Company. “Even the most dedicated big brand beer drinker will be surprised by Louisiana Lager’s smooth finish and refreshing drinkability.”

The Lake Charles brewery has made its mark on the craft beer industry with rapid expansion and success across the state, and it has received rave reviews. Ready To Mingle brought home a silver medal at the Best of Craft Beer Awards in Bend, Oregon. The brew was also entered into the Baton Rouge Best of Craft Beer Awards.

Crying Eagle takes its name from the word “Calcasieu,” which roughly translates to “crying eagle.” That was the name of the legendary local Atakapa Indian chief who charged into battle with a fearsome cry.
