Actor Kieron Richardson is calling out Hollyoaks fans who have moaned about the soap's LGBT storylines.

In Channel 4's newest promo, the 33-year-old can be seen kissing his husband Carl Hyland, before chowing down on a turkey leg and saying: "I'm not homophobic, but do we have to have gay kissing at dinnertime?"

Entitled Complaints Welcome, the campaign will feature some of the broadcaster's most recognisable talents "as you've never seen them before" as they address – and basically, laugh in the face of – real criticisms they've faced while doing their jobs.

"This just confirms my suspicion that women aren't funny," says Catastrophe comedian Sharon Horgan. Meanwhile, The Last Leg's Alex Brooker – who's receiving a massage from co-host Adam Hills – says: "Alex Brooker's arms make me want to puke."

"The arms are fine, but the back hair could do with a trim," adds Hills.

Other notable figures include newsreaders Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Jon Snow, comedians Mo Gilligan and Katherine Ryan, contemporary artist Grayson Perry, Countdown presenter Rachel Riley, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, five-time gold Paralympic medallist Ellie Simmonds and the cast of Northern Ireland-set comedy series Derry Girls.

"This bold, cheeky film is so uniquely Channel 4," Channel 4 Marketing and Media Controller James Walker said in a statement.

"It not only shows off our fantastic range of talent, it reinforces the message that stimulating debate and discussion is part of what we do."
