James Purefoy has claimed that he had no trouble doing naked scenes in historical drama Rome.

The Solomon Kane star told Metro that he was not worried about having to take off his clothes for his role as Mark Antony in the HBO/BBC show.

When asked if doing full-frontal nudity was embarrassing, Purefoy said: "It was like any other scene. I'm so used to it, it wasn't a big deal at all."

Of being cast in a number of swashbuckling roles, he added: "When producers and directors have seen you pick up a sword, they feel safe to hire you again to do similar things.

"I've just done another medieval adventure film with swords. People feel they can trust you to do those roles."
