King Lot / James Purefoy thread 2
King Lot was only in 3 episodes and he was an absolute bastard, but he makes an impression. James Purefoy, who plays him, is an excellent actor best known for playing Mark Antony in the HBO show Rome (he was a real scumbag there too). Last year, Purefoy was in Ironclad, a gritty medieval actioner set in 13th century England, a film which I very much enjoyed. A few years back, he took the main role in Solomon Kane, set circa 1600 in England, a dark actioner based on the stories of Robert E Howard. He often plays characters from earlier times. He played Blackbeard the pirate in one tv movie. A while back he had his own short-lived tv series called The Philanthropist. In the legends, Lot was the husband of Morgan's sister Morgause and the father of Gawain, Agravain, Gaheris and Gareth, He was killed by Pellinore, Perceval's father, starting a feud between the two families. He was the king of Lothian and Orkney in Scotland. Purefoy on imdb: James Purefoy - IMDb Previous thread http://www.fanforum.com/f366/king-lo...8/index21.html __________________

Yes I saw Rome and he was amazing. That was another show that was good but I remember losing interest because it took nearly a year for S2 to start.

It's worth catching up with season 2 of Rome.

I've always thought that James Purefoy should have a more high-profile career than he does. Still, maybe, he prefers it the way it is.

I don't know why he's not better known. He's certainly better than a lot of better-known actors.
Tar, Rome is very worth watching. You'd like the way all the characters are dark. __________________

I agree, he's really great. Maybe he just doesn't like the spotlight. I also remember reading something about him saying how they always cast him as the villain for some reason I don't know if he likes that or not.

He's not ALWAYS cast a villain, but a lot of the time. I wish he got the main role more often.

I guess he just has one of those faces that go well with being a bastard

Do you guys think he could've played his role longer in Camelot or did you think the character did enough?
