The haute couture shows are in full swing in Paris this week, and though custom creations of tulle and organza might not be at the top of your fashion wish list right this second, the runway shows are a great place for some star gazing. Dita von Teese was sitting front row at Christian Dior yesterday, acting every bit the part of Parisian beauty. Check it out, after the jump.
Considering she became famous for what she doesn't wear, burlesque star (and former Marilyn Manson paramour) Dita Von Teese has an insanely beautiful wardrobe. Yesterday in Paris, she worked a grey monochrome look in a prim knee-length dress with cap sleeves and a slender little belt--and I'm totally loving this look!
I think they key here is the cut. The dress is slim enough to show off her incredible body, yet not so slim that it's too revealing or inappropriate for daytime. Her accessories are also just...well...sorry to be cheesy, but they're darling! I'd suggest trying your own form of this look out for an afternoon event that you need to get a bit dressed up for, like a family function or a bridal shower. Buy a simple faux flower for your hair, break out your fancy evening heels (phony snakeskin will do just fine!), add a skinny belt to your favorite pencil skirt, and swipe on some red lipstick for maximum feminine factor.
