Aerial pictures show the extent of flooding around Tewkesbury after Storm Gerrit brought heavy rain to Gloucestershire. More downpours are expected and flood warnings are in place along the River Severn.

Much of the flooding is in well-used flood plains around the town. One of the Environment Agency flood warnings is for the River Severn at Severn Ham, Tewkesbury.

There is also a Met Office severe weather warning for wind from 11am on Saturday to 3am on Sunday. A warning for rain is in place in Wales and that could have an impact on county rivers in the days to come.

The pictures you see below were taken on Friday (December 29) by Ben Birchall for the Press Association. For the latest on the weather and flooding, see our live blog.
