As he shared a number of snaps of the beautiful scenery, some social media users poked fun at the Australian in the comments for captioning the post: “A coupla more memories from Dublin. One of the most beautiful places in all the land. Thank you for the hospitality,” he declared, as he posed for the scenic shots

"We'll excuse you for your geography this time," one commenter said jokingly, letting him off the hook for not mentioning Wicklow.

And the Australian star made sure to meet Luke afterwards and even got to feel a piece of bog used in his play, Distillation, which is produced in association with the Abbey Theatre.

“If it’s good enough for Wolverine,” said the Abbey.

“Last night we were privileged to welcome Hugh Jackman to an intimate performance of the Irish bog landscape through memory and scent – thanks for joining us Hugh.”

As well as taking in the sites of the city, including a visit to the Long Room at Trinity College, Jackman also took a spin south to Co Wicklow to Glendalough and Glenmacnass Waterfall.
