EXTERIOR
This amazing example finished in Flame Red, (Code AJ4), is preserved in superb condition having covered just 22,728 miles with one owner from new. The paint finish is fantastic with a deep uniform shine, and all original panels are straight with uniform gaps. Preserved trim sections, decals and items such as the original supplying dealer number plates remain in place, as does all factory glass and Nissan light fitments. Close scrutiny reveals nothing more than very light age-related markings which in no way spoil the appearance of this rare car. Virtually impossible to find in this unspoiled state, this retro rare sport saloon is one for the Nissan fanatic!
INTERIOR
To climb inside the interior of this wonderfully kept example can be likened to visiting a Nissan showroom in 1996! The exceptionally low mileage is clearly evident and the interior condition is simply outstanding. The sports velour seats in SRi Grey, (Code G), are as new, as are the matching door cards and grey tufted carpets which are still protected by tailored Nissan floor mats. Natural veins to the leather steering wheel and gear knob reflect the low mileage and even the new car smell has not escaped! All equipment and functions operate perfectly including the original Nissan branded Blaupunkt stereo. The boot area is pristine with unused Nissan toolkit still in the vinyl tool roll and full wheel changing equipment in the side cubby is present and unused. The descriptive term ‘time warp’ is entirely appropriate.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This sporting SRi model features the chain-driven 1.6 litre 16v four-cylinder twin-cam engine developing 102bhp at 6000rpm and 136Nm torque at 6000rpm. The spotlessly clean and totally standard engine bay displays factory plates, stickers, under-bonnet labels and Nissan panel stampings. Further originality and garage storage is even found with factory anodised bolts, coloured PDI dabs and factory wax that has survived intact, long lost on many higher mileage examples. The five-speed gearbox is light and has the tight precise feel again only found with such low mileage. The perfect opportunity to experience an unmolested Primera SRi performing at its absolute best.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Five 14-inch alloy wheels are in immaculate condition and originality seekers will be pleased to see the factory fitted Continental Super Contact 185/65 R14 tyres still fitted including the virgin spare. Should the next owner intend to use the vehicle rather than store it is advised that the tyres are renewed on grounds of age. The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) incorporates ventilated discs to the front and solid rear discs to offer assuring straight-line stopping power and has been overhauled including a brake fluid change.
HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 29th August 1996 and supplied by Nisan Main Dealer, Bob Julier Motor Services of Dudley, this exceptional Primera SRi has covered a low 22,728 miles with just one owner from new. In the vehicle history file is the new vehicle order and sales invoice made out to Mr Moore who, including a part exchange allowance for his 1993 Toyota Carina E of £7,000, paid £12,250 for the car. The original Nissan blue document wallet houses the service book with nine stamped entries, the most recent in March 2021 which entailed a major service. The full book pack and all dealership point of sale documentation has been kept as well as even the business cards for staff at the supplying Nissan Dealership. Mr Moore purchased the car in retirement and used it sparingly with strict garage storage adhered to at all times when not in use. In 2011 the car was placed into long term dry storage and in 2021 the car has now undergone a full recommissioning process. A separate history file contains service paperwork and every MOT certificate from the first in 1999 to 2010 prior to the car being stored. Both sets of Nissan keys and remote fobs are present and there is an original Primera range brochure.
