🗒️ The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), as the golden standard for digital guidelines, considers synced #passkeys as being AAL2-compliant. 🔒 What sounds like a minor legal or regulatory adaptation could have major influence, as NIST is the first authority to endorse synced passkeys in many regulated industries such as #banking or #healthcare. 🏢 This decision could have a ripple effect, not only for these industries but also for other countries and authorities (e.g. Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) or National Cyber Security Centre) to release similar statements. 🚀 In our opinion, this will only be a matter of time before passkey adoption will further continue to thrive.
