Iggy Pop, Patti Smith and New Order all confirmed to headline Dalai Lama organisation benefit

Iggy Pop, Patti Smith and New Order have all been confirmed to headline next year’s Tibet House 30th anniversary benefit concert.

The show will take place on March 16th at New York’s Carnegie Hall.

Founded in 1987 by the Dalai Lama, the mission of the organisation is to preserve Tibetan civilisation and culture irrespective of the political destiny of the Himalayan country itself.

On the project, the Dalai Lama says, “I feel that Tibetan culture with its unique heritage – born of the efforts of many human beings of good spirit… has developed a kind of energy which is very helpful for cultivating peace of mind and a joyful life… I feel that there is a potential for Tibet to help humanity… I feel very strongly that Tibetan culture will have a role to play in the future of humanity.”
