Musician José Cid is presenting a new show in February in Lisbon and in March in Guimarães, based on the album “10,000 years later between Venus and Mars”, originally published in 1978, which is being reissued this year.

According to the musician’s management, in a statement released today, the “progressive rock show, which is also an opera and comes from the project to reissue the album ‘10,000 Years Later Between Venus and Mars'”, will take place on February 24 at the Coliseu dos Recreios in Lisbon and on March 2 at the Multiusos in Guimarães.

The Lisbon concert, which will be recorded, will feature the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras and the Guimarães concert will feature the Orquestra do Norte.

Published in 1978 by Orfeu, José Cid’s album was performed for the first time by a symphony orchestra in September 2022, in Faro, at the F Festival, following a challenge from the director of the Teatro das Figuras.

At the end of 2021, José Cid returned to progressive rock with “Vozes do Além”, his 25th studio album, in which he sings poets such as Natália Correia and Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen.
