Iraq Eyes Ex-Netherlands Coach Dick Advocaat: Report
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Media reports suggest that Dick Advocaat will take charge of Iraq’s national football team.
The normalization committee for the Iraq Football Association (IFA) had been reported to have reached an agreement with former Iran coach Carlos Queiroz but it seems they have not reached an agreement.
Now, Iraqi media say that IFA is going to hire the Dutch.
Advocaat has coached Belgium, South Korea, Russia, Serbia and Netherlands football teams.
Iraq is in Group A along with Iran, Korea Republic, United Arab Emirates, Syria and Lebanon in Round 3 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The competition will begin on September 1.
