I’ve been forced to muzzle my pint-sized Chihuahua after it ‘nipped’ a visitor – it’s ridiculous
A MUZZLE order for a tiny Chihuahua has been branded barking mad by her owner.
Pint-sized Kizzy stands five inches high but was slapped with a dog control order after “nipping” a visitor.
The toy dog is now banned from being left alone with kids, must be muzzled when out and caged when the postman arrives.
But owner Kelly Hill, 43, said her “snugglebug” rescue dog aged around four “would have a hard time harming anything”.
She said: “She’s the cutest thing but does have a big bark.”
Former croupier Kelly, who has mobility issues due to an accident, recalled: “I was in a hostel as I was in between homes and a nurse came round to do a welfare check.

"Kizzy just nipped at them. They didn’t even want to report it but another staff member did. Apparently it didn’t hurt, it didn’t bleed.”
Even the control order, issued last week, describes the offence as causing a “superficial injury”.
Police visited Kelly in Plymouth, Devon, to go through the order with her. She added: “I said, ‘Do you want to see her?’
“They said no because I think they knew how tiny she is and how ridiculous it is.

“She’s absolutely lovely with me. She’s so protective — I think that’s it. I don’t know what she went through but it must have been rough for her.”
The Kennel Club says toy Chihuahuas are “bold and saucy in temperament” and often have a “huge personality”.
