Jumping around Java
January 2nd 2010 After Bali, I came to the neighboring island of Java, to see how most Indonesians live. Indonesia is a vast country made up of over 17,000 islands. One of these, Java, makes up only 6% of the country’s land mass, but has 60% of the population. With 140 million people, it is also the most populous island in the world. I landed in the capital, Jakarta, a huge city of over 15 million people.
