Asking Obama to remember his school

President Obama attended St. Francis of Assisi school, a Roman-Catholic school in Jakarta, for nearly three years while he lived in Indonesia, but most of the public attention about that time period has fallen on Besuki school, a rival Muslim school the president also attended briefly. Feeling that they have been written out of the history of the president's childhood, Assisi alumni are trying to reclaim the president as their own. Below are letters written to the president by current students of St. Francis of Assisi, asking him to remember his school and to come and visit them when he visits Indonesia later this year. « Return to story
