FRIENDSHIP ANGEL

This was an angel commissioned by a group of friends for one of them.  These 7 ladies have been friends since school days and although not all living close together any more, they meet up regularly for a get-together.

While they were visiting together in one of their houses, the car in which they were all travelling was involved in an accident.  Aside from scratches and bruises and a terrifying experience, they were all unharmed.  The police said that was a miracle and they reckoned it was because they had a guardian angel looking after them.

I wanted each of the friends to be represented, so I designed this angel to be holding a bunch of 7 flowers, each one in the birthstone colour of a friend.  The bouquet is tied together with ivy - the symbol of everlating friendship.

This angel stood at about 500mm overall.
